Bio

Johanna is a dedicated Osteopath with a Master of Osteopathy (M.Ost), awarded with distinction from the University College of Osteopathy 2022. She further expanded her expertise with a Postgraduate Certificate in Performing Arts Medicine from University College London 2023.

She works with patients from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups but holds particular expertise in Performing Arts and Sports Medicine. With a background in performing arts herself, Johanna has developed a deep understanding of the unique physical demands placed on performers. She has in-depth knowledge of biomechanics, technical movement, physical complexity, and the variation in discipline and style across the performing arts. In addition, she has extensive knowledge of vocal health and the specific physical demands placed on the voice. She is currently involved in supporting Strictly Come Dancing and is a member of the Osteopathic Performing Arts Care Association (OPACA), the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM), and One Dance UK.

Johanna uses a wide range of treatment modalities, such as hands-on techniques including soft tissue release, joint articulation and adjustment, medical acupuncture, and exercise-based rehabilitation. Her approach is holistic and highly individualized, aiming to relieve pain, restore function, and empower patients through education and self-management.

She is committed to delivering exceptional care tailored to each person’s specific needs and goals, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes.

Johanna also delivered a conference presentation titled A Multidisciplinary Approach to Managing Bone Stress Injury in a Professional Ballerina.
