Dr. Eleftherios Alexiou was born in Corfu, Greece, in 1982. He completed his studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, earning degrees in Physical Education and Sport Science as well as Medicine. He subsequently specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the National Rehabilitation Center and completed his postgraduate thesis at the National School of Public Health. In 2021, Dr. Alexiou served as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician at Attica Rehabilitation Center in Athens. Since 2023, he has held the position of Scientific Associate at Athens Medical Center and, during the same year, worked as a physician for the Olympiacos Football Club (U19 – Academies). Dr. Alexiou is the author of several scientific articles and has participated in numerous national and international conferences. In addition to his medical career, he was a professional tennis player and a member of the Greek National Tennis Team (Davis Cup Team), achieving an ATP ranking of 515. I grew up on the tennis courts from a very young age. Through hard work and dedication, I managed to reach a very high level and become a professional tennis player. My dreams and expectations were big. Along the way, I experienced great joys, but I also faced serious challenges like Injuries, pressure, and setbacks made the journey even more demanding.
But none of this broke me. On the contrary, every obstacle gave me valuable lessons and experiences. Today, as a physiatrist specializing in sports injuries, I can truly understand what both athletes and active individuals go through, and I’m in a position to help them overcome the barriers that hold them back.
My goal is to stand by their side not only in preventing, diagnosing, and rehabilitating injuries, but also in supporting their mental resilience and guiding them toward achieving their goals.
Because I deeply believe that every challenge can be transformed into a stepping stone to climb higher.
